Camiguin-Panglao Bohol

LEAVING CAMIGUIN
We woke up at 5:00 am to get ready to go back in Bohol. The roro scheduled to leave by 8am. But before leaving the Camiguin, we have to buy the Philippine's famous but a li’l bit expensive LANZONES! But not in Camiguin, it’s just 20php /kilo! We want to buy as much as we want but the thing is, we only have limited check-in baggage to the airport or else we’ll pay for the exceeding kilos :)

When we arrived at the seaport, we’re all covered by disappointment. The ticketing window has no lane and people are everywhere. But anyways, we used our “singit” powers til we purchased 4 tickets! :D

Sand like fine white sugar. Crystal clear turquoise waters. Dreamy sunset.

Wait, which beach am I talking about? Boracay or Panglao?

PANGLAO BOHOL

Boracay Island in Aklan and Panglao Island in Bohol have long been pitted against each other. Both are known to have pristine white beaches, various outdoor activities and vivid night scene.

Prices in hotels, restaurants, rental offices and supermarkets are very high. So cost of fruits, motorbike rent, and coffee in cafes, hotel rooms in average two times higher than in Tagbilaran Bohol. Be prepared for this.

The coastland is occupied by boats. Boats are everywhere on the beach! When I saw it for a first time, I was thinking: “How do people swim here?”. The answer is below.
Hint: Go to the very end of the beach pass along all the restaurants. The place here is much better.
This is the first thing we did upon arrival. Going the beach!

There are a lot of hotels and guesthouses on Alona Beach. So there is no need to book accommodation in advance. Basically you can find a room at the day of arrival. You can book a room for one night. That's what we did, we rented one room for four of us for only 1,500php in a night.

We stayed in Bamboo guesthouse, this place is located three minutes walking from the beach. Everything you may need is near. The place is cheap, but it’s not comfort. Fan room costs 800 pesos, air-con room – 1200-1500 pesos. It’s not very easy to find an entrance to this place. You have to go along Alona Beach Road down to the sea. On the right side you will see the sign. Turn right and go to the end of the narrow aisle.
  • 800 pesos – the lowest rate for a fan room on Alona Beach.
  • Air-con rooms start from 1,200 pesos for the very modest conditions,
  • 2500-5500 pesos for a comfort room.
Remember that if you pay for a long period, you can get a discount. Booking on websites usually is more expensive.

We just stayed for a night and we never had the chance to try the outdoor activities. Tour packages offers everywhere along the seashore but how i wished we tried the diving with the butanding. ;)
