Bamboo Organ, Las Piñas

It was daytime and non working day. My cousin and I gets bored and nothing to do but to think where to go. Since we're living in Pasay and easy access to everywhere, we decided to go to see the Bamboo organ out of curiosity :P

Known around the world as one of the most unique instruments, the world’s one and only Bamboo Organ sits just 10 kilometers to the south of the center of Manila. This truly amazing instrument can be witnessed in its full glory every February when internationally acclaimed musicians gather at St. Joseph Parish Church in Las Piñas to play a large assortment of compositions on this extraordinary instrument.
I only see this back in Elementary and High School in our Hekasi and Panlipunan subjects. And now, i saw it finally in my very own eyes!

Their Altar and the bamboo ceiling i think? XD

An old church bell inside the museum of the Las Piñas Parochial Church has an inscription that says 'Siendo Cura-del Pueblo de Las Peñas el M.R.P. Padre Diego Cera se Fundio este equilon ano de 1820.' It shows that as early as 1820, the town had been called 'Las Peñas' until sometime in history when the name was changed to 'Las Piñas

Tagaytay

Before giving directions to Tagaytay, did you know the origin of Tagaytay's name? Tagaytay is actually an old Tagalog word for ridge, being a place on a ridge of an ancient caldera, similar to Taytay town in Rizal province that also sits on a ridge. Should you know anyone living in Tagaytay such a government official, please inform him/her that the Tagaytay legend of the "taga, Itay" is just not true and unfounded, something the people of Tagaytay falsely celebrate with a re-enactment during the Araw ng Tagaytay celebration on June 21.

Tagaytay's primary tourist attraction is Taal Volcano, the smallest volcano in the world, besides its cold weather that appeals to Manila denizens escaping the searing summer sun.

How to Commute to Tagaytay: Buses, Fx, Vans, Jeepneys

If you're going to Tagaytay via public transportation, request the driver to drop you off at your destination if along the way or at Tagaytay Rotonda (landmarks: Ninoy Aquino monument, BPI, Max's, 7-Eleven) where you can ride jeepneys or tricycle to your target place.

From Manila Airport to Tagaytay

From NAIA Terminal 1 or NAIA Terminal 2, walk outside the terminal from arrival gate and take the bus going to EDSA to Uniwide Coastal Mall (MMDA Southwest Integrated Bus Terminal) where you need to ride the bus going to Lemery, Lian, Nasugbu, Calatagan or DLTB/Crow Transit and alight in Tagaytay (Fare is around PhP80.00)

From NAIA T3 (serving flights from Cebu Pacific, PAL Express and some Philippine Airlines domestic flights), exit the gate cross Andrews Avenue. Look for jeepneys with signboard Pasay Taft Rotonda then alight at Rotonda (landmarks McDonalds and Sogo Hotel). At Rotonda, ride buses with signboard MIA to take you to Uniwide Coastal Mall (MMDA Southwest Integrated Bus Terminal) where you take bus to Tagaytay (Fare is around PhP80.00)

From NAIA Terminal 4 (old Manila Domestic Airport terminal serving as terminal for AirAsia Zest, SEAir), take a taxi to Uniwide Coastal Mall (MMDA Southwest Integrated Bus Terminal) where you take the the bus going to Lemery, Lian or Nasugbu or DLTB/Crow Transit and alight in Tagaytay (Fare is around PhP80.00)

Boracay 01.03-07.12

FAMILY VACAY!

This is my first ever outside Luzon trip! And a trip with my family. First serious blog.. no emo this time..
Four days’ vacation on this island is so sulit! Away from work and annoying officemates lol.. and of course, dati pinapanood ko lang to or nakikita sa magazine. Ngayun di ko inakala na narating ko na! yey!

But since we didn’t book a hotel, a horrible experience welcomed us. We almost do camping along the seashore. It was peak season and no rooms available from Station 1-2 and finally we found a small room in station 3. Better have than nothing anyway.
Me and my uncle are scouting even a 3-star hotel for a much better room to stay but we’re lucky to find the “Las Brisas de Boracay” from station 1.

Our sea front suite room is quite expensive but worth it!
You never been to Boracay if you did not walk to “D’ Mall” and watch the fire dance, and build a sand castle!

D' Mall D' Boracay

Shopping at D Mall D Boracay is something that most visitors to the island never fail to do. While there are many stores around, this is one you will not want to pass up. It is the largest shopping mall on the island.

Location

The shopping mall is very close to White Beach. From a cab, the distance is only five minutes away. It is very near the restaurants, hotels and resorts. It is known by all the drivers and locals.

What to Buy

You can buy a variety of things at the mall. The place is filled with gift shops where you can buy souvenir items for yourself or your loved ones. There are also shops here that sell clothes, shoes, caps, hats, belts and all sorts of fashion accessories.

Those looking for some cool swimsuits will find plenty here too. Many shops have a lot of beachwear for men and women.

Cost

Shopping at D Mall D Boracay is not that heavy on the pockets. The prices differ from the various gift shops, as you will soon find out. But it is a good idea to bring some extra cash along. With so many attractive items for sale, you will be tempted to buy more than a few.

Other Information

The mall is also known for the vast number of local handicrafts being sold. Art and handicraft enthusiasts will find several items that suit their fancy. These products are locally made, giving you insights into the skills of the Filipino as a craftsman.
